300

In the movie 300, directed by Zack Snyder, many symbols are at work. One that is very predominate is the symbolism throughout the movie.  Throughout the movie the Spartans are fighting the Persians for their land, and they are greatly outnumbered, 300 against more than 10,000. One of the symbolizes that Snyder uses is the arrows that the Persians fire upon the Spartans. These arrows are fired upon the Spartans, and they penetrate the Spartan’s capes, which hold them down. But once the bombardment has stopped, they take the arrows out of their capes, and break the arrows off of their shields. The arrows symbolize the many things throughout our lives that keep us from advancing. They are things like the loss of money, or of a loved one. It is anything that holds you back from bettering yourself and making yourself achieve your ultimate goal.

I choose this scene because I saw something that many people should realize. I feel that many people are mostly focus on the negatives on life, and that causes them to have a negative outlook on life. But some people focus on the positives in life. Those people have a positive outlook on life. This scene reflects how I fell about the negatives in life, and like in the movie, how the Spartans break the arrows of their shields, we should break the negatives of our personality.
